Waheed K. Bajwa; MD, Board Certified in Adult & Addiction Psychiatry

Dr. Waheed K Bajwa has over 30 years experience in treating psychiatric disorders. He received residency training at a Columbia University affiliate, Harlem Hospital in New York and his fellowship in Biological psychiatry at Albert Einstein College affiliate, Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Bajwa is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He has been part of academic psychiatry with positions at Albert Einstein College and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Bajwa has worked in public psychiatry through work at Milwaukee County Mental Health and Dorthea Dix in Raleigh.

Dr. Bajwa has experience in managed care through United Behavioral Health and 20 years of private practice in Milwaukee and Raleigh with special interest in treating Mood Disorder, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, OCD, Anxiety, Personality Disorder, Adult ADHD, Schizophrenia and Dual Diagnosis.

Dr. Bajwa coordinates care of his patients with primary care physicians, psychotherapist, inpatient attendings and hospitalist.

Carrye Addonizio; MSW, LCSW

carrye addonizioCarrye Addonizio is a board-certified licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina with 15 years of experience. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Clinical Counseling with a concentration in Women’s Studies as well as her Associates of Science in Chemical Dependency from Keene State College. She then went on to receive her Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. Her therapeutic focus is on individuals, families and groups. Carrye has extensive experience and training in trauma-related issues as she specializes in post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, sexual assault, relationship violence, childhood abuse, family of origin issues and dissociative disorders. Her therapeutic approaches are eclectic and include CBT, DBT, Psychoeducational, and the use of art and writing as processing tools.

 Jessica DeMotts, NP-C

Jessica DeMottsJessica DeMotts is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Tennessee and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at East Carolina University. Prior to joining Cary Behavioral Health Jessica worked in general medicine and oncology for Duke.

In her time off Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and her pet cat and turtle. She loves doughnuts and watching movies, but she also strives to stay fit. She is a die-hard fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and waits all year for football season, GO VOLS!

Mary Emerson; MSW, LCSW

Mary Emerson is a psychotherapist, licensed in North Carolina, providing services to adults, couples, adolescents and children. With 24 years of experience, Mary specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, OCD, post traumatic stress, sexual abuse and sexual trauma, family-of-origin issues, eating disorders, dissociative disorders, and marriage counseling. Her therapeutic approaches include: DBT, CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy. Mary also facilitates two group therapies, a DBT group, and an Eating Disorders group.

 Cheza Garvin, PhD

Dr. Cheza Garvin is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in mental health, health psychology and substance abuse treatment and public health. She has a master’s degree in public health and social welfare from the UC, Berkeley and a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Washington. At Cary Behavioral Health, her work focuses on psychotherapy services for adults and adolescents, with emphasis on CBT for a variety of mental health disorders, including chronic illness, sleep disorders-particularly insomnia, depression, anxiety, relationships, cultural identity issues, trauma, and other concerns. Dr. Garvin also incorporates healthy aging, wellness coaching, DBT and supportive therapies into her work.

 Rachel Macko | MSW, LCSW

Rachel Macko is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who prides herself on taking a strengths-based approach to healing while helping her clients focus on measurable progress and positive change during various life transitions.  She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mainly works with adults who are overcoming depression, anxiety, substance abuse and/or trauma.  She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, college counseling, dual diagnosis rehabilitation centers, public health education and private practice.  She possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Delaware and earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan with an emphasis in Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health.

 Christine Duffy-Gill | MSW, LCSW

Christine Duffy-Gill is a compassionate and caring Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience in providing individual, couples, and group therapy. She believes in helping support, encourage, and guide her clients as they try to find the right path for their lives.  She draws from a variety of treatment approaches, to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Christine has extensive experience in working with adults coping with many mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, Bipolar Disorder, and substance abuse. She also has experience in helping clients who are coping with low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, communication difficulties, and anger management challenges. Christine has specialized expertise in working with the military and veteran population. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Social Work Degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

 Cindy Evans, Office Manager

Cindy Evans has been involved with health care for over 10 years. She enjoys meeting patients and looks forward to getting to know them better. She believes “good customer service is the key to business success”. She brings a tremendous amount of experience dealing with people and is dedicated to the daily operations of the practice. She looks forward to meeting you and answering any questions regarding the practice.
